21st Touratech Travel Event 2026

Touratech Travel Event 2026 – 3 days full of motorcycle passion!

The Touratech Travel Event has long been much more than just a motorbike festival. It is the place where the adventure travel community takes stock once a year – and makes new plans.

In 2026, over 20,000 people attended. More than ever before. The camping area was filled with tents and campervans as far as the eye could see, and the off-road test rides introduced a new format that showcased what Touratech is truly all about: it is not on tarmac, but off the beaten track that the real adventures take place – where the travels truly happen. Proof that the hunger for authentic experiences on two wheels remains as strong as ever.

Michael Martin

Around the world on two wheels

Michael Martin has been travelling the world on his motorbike for over forty years. Since riding his moped to Morocco as a schoolboy in 1981, he has crossed not only the deserts of Africa but also those of Asia, Australia and the Americas on his motorbike. Michael Martin has also conquered 5,000-metre-high Himalayan passes and ventured into the Canadian Arctic in winter. He has travelled on his bike through the East African Rift Valley, the Andes and Central Asia, and most recently travelled in Europe.

In his live talk, Michael Martin recounts all these motorcycling adventures and shows his best photographs. It is not just about motorcycling trips, but also about the attitude to life and the experiences surrounding motorcycling. At the same time, the talk is a journey through time spanning four decades full of adventure and passion.

His latest adventures on the Royal Enfield Bear 650 are also part of the programme. When Dirk Schäfer sets off on his first big motorbike trip to Africa, he convinces himself that this is the ‘adventure of a lifetime’. He’s in for a surprise.

Look forward to Dirk’s adventure show, put together especially for the Travel Event. He’ll take you on a wild ride through incredible motorbike adventures, hair-raising breakdowns and exhilarating moments of joy.

ACT Film premiere

10 years of Adventure Country Tracks

Ten years after the very first Adventure Country Track, the three members of the ACT board are setting off on a tour retracing the route of that first track in Portugal.

For five days, following the destruction of entire sections of track during the rainy winter of 2025, the team is resurveying Portugal’s wonderful hinterland and tackling new tracks. Accompanied by Portuguese videographer Manuel Portugal, they will cover the entire route from Bragança, in the very north of the country, through the mountains of the Serra da Estrela, the Douro region and the Alentejo, all the way to the Algarve and the sea.

An entertaining look back at 10 years of Adventure Country Tracks – full of memories, stories and personal anecdotes – on a tour surrounded by stunning scenery and accompanied not only by various surprise encounters with ACT travellers, but also by supporters and fans of the project. A short film that shows what makes motorbike touring so special.

ABOVE THE CLOUDS

TV presenter, extreme sportsman and adventurer Niels Peter Jensen takes you on an expedition that he can scarcely put into words – and that is precisely why he wants to share it with you.

At the heart of it all is the exclusive film project “ABOVE THE CLOUDS”.

Over 6,000 metres above sea level. Through some of the highest and most challenging passes in the Himalayas. But this journey is not just about motorbikes and mountains. It is about encounters that stay with you. About experiences that push you to your limits and change everything. About an aid project in India and moments at the highest political level.

“ABOVE THE CLOUDS” is a story about freedom, courage and the question of what truly drives a person. Raw, emotional and authentic – an expedition to the ends of the earth and deep into one’s own personality.

TV presenter, extreme sportsman and adventurer Niels Peter Jensen takes you on a journey that cannot simply be told – it must be experienced.

EXPERIENCE Ireland – by motorbike along the Wild Atlantic Way and beyond

Stretching over 2,500 kilometres, the Wild Atlantic Way winds its way along the Irish coast, making it the longest coastal road in Europe. But it wasn’t its length, but rather the impressive landscape and, in places, spectacular route that captivated journalist Wolf Haenlein and his partner Mel in July 2025. In this talk, they take you on their 7,500-kilometre motorbike journey to an island that could scarcely be greener, where ancient castles, ever-friendly and sociable people, the ‘national pride’ Guinness and live music on every corner shape the experience, but where the still-unresolved Northern Ireland conflict continues to cause tensions in political and social life.

Sand. Red. Endless. Off-road across Algeria. You can’t get more desert than this.

17 days on the road.
Through red sand. Through rock. Through silence.

No roads. No towns. Just landscape.

We follow tracks that will have vanished by tomorrow.
Driving through the Tadrart Rouge, through canyons in the Tassili n’Ajjer, past silent gueltas.

A local team accompanies us. Looks after us. Cooks for us.
Makes this journey possible in the first place.

Some routes are only permitted with an escort. Others are simply long.

At the end, we stand atop the Assekrem. And look back at what lies behind us:

Sand. Red. Endless.

From Switzerland to Nepal

What had long been an idea floating around in the back of her mind, Judith Seeberger finally turned into reality as a ‘gift’ for her 50th birthday: travelling by motorbike overland from Switzerland to Nepal. Following her trips to the Americas, the Balkans and various other European countries, this marks yet another solo adventure.

Her live talk is about this tour, which began in April 2019. She recounts wonderful encounters and the many adventures she experienced along the way with her motorbike, ‘SuzyBlue’. And she talks about unexpected changes of plan, which, as we all know, are what make travelling so exciting.

Andalusia = a motorcyclist’s paradise?

I visited Andalusia for the first time in February 2026 and was instantly blown away.

For me, Andalusia is one of the most beautiful places to ride a motorbike. I’d like to tell you all about it, and I’ve brought back some stunning photos to show you

Across America on my own – 13,500 kilometres off-road from San Francisco to New York

Two months, 13,500 kilometres, one goal: to cross the continent via the back roads.

From the Pacific coast to the Atlantic – mostly off the beaten track. Through the deserts of the West, over the peaks of the Rocky Mountains and on to the green landscapes of the East.

Travelling alone, every kilometre feels more intense. The vastness greater. The silence more palpable.

A slide show about freedom, solitude and the unique experience of truly crossing America.

A Tour of the Caucasus

There is hardly any other country that offers so much in such a small area. Mountains over 5,000 metres high, cultures dating back more than 3,000 years, a fascinating landscape, culinary highlights and, not to be forgotten, the warm hospitality of the people. Andreas Hülsmann and Thomas Flemming shipped their motorbikes to Georgia and spent several weeks on the road. On their journey through the country in the Caucasus, they visited the ancient villages with their defensive towers in Svaneti. They parked their motorbikes at the foot of the 5,201-metre-high ‘Shkhara’, the country’s highest mountain.

In his talk, Andreas Hülsmann will show fascinating images from a country that, despite the rise in tourism, has remained authentic and offers plenty of adventure for motorcyclists.

Wodarz_Claudia

Alone on a motorbike to the ends of the earth

Claudia’s talk is based on her two-year solo motorbike journey from Austria to Timor-Leste. 60,000 kilometres and a route that was constantly being rewritten as she went along. An accident in a remote part of Timor-Leste becomes a turning point and shows just how crucial it is to have people turn up at the right moment.

Guided through defining stages of this journey: from the harsh daily life of a shepherd in Iran, to police escorts in the scorching desert of Baluchistan, to the adventurous mountain roads of the Himalayas at 5,000 metres, and the wild jungles of Southeast Asia, right through to intense encounters with indigenous tribes in Indonesia.
The journey shows her that freedom does not come from control, but from the courage to accept detours, to open up to people, and to keep going when it seems there is no way forward.

A knot in your head – messing up a bend A short talk on stress under the helmet

This talk is for everyone, because we all have things on our minds in life. Under the helmet, however, these can affect our well-being and, consequently, our safety.
But our hobby should be fun and get us home safely. In this talk, we’ll explore self-perception, look at gender-specific differences and clarify what stress actually is.

With a touch of humour, we’ll take the weight off the subject and realise: “You’re not alone.”

Over the course of two and a half months and more than 15,000 kilometres there and back, my Dakar journey became a series of unforgettable adventures that have shaped my path ever since. I look forward to sharing the stories of these adventures, the unique routes and the challenges that have shaped me. Because this journey has led me to where I am today. In the desert that stole my heart, I now plan enduro tours and take people along on these unforgettable adventures. Because what I learnt on this journey is that adventures are at their best when shared with other madcap souls.

Wardrobe

The Streetbunnycrew will once again be on hand for you at the Touratech Travel Event, offering their tried-and-tested helmet and jacket cloakroom service. You can hand in your helmets and jackets conveniently and securely at the event site. This leaves your hands free so you can relax and enjoy the event, the bikes and the exhibitor area. Please note: cloakroom capacity is limited.

As usual, you’ll recognise the crew from a distance by their pink plush costumes – the ‘bunnies’ will be happy to help you.

A fee is charged for using the cloakroom. These proceeds – after deduction of applicable taxes – are donated in full to the Streetbunnycrew’s charity account.

And this is precisely the point: since the Streetbunnycrew e. V. was founded in 2013, over 300,000 euros have already been raised and donated to numerous social projects. Among others, support is provided to children’s homes, children’s hospitals, facilities for people with disabilities, and various support centres.
So, by using the cloakroom, you are directly helping to ensure that important projects can continue to be supported.

So: hand in your luggage with peace of mind, enjoy the Touratech Travel Event – and help do some good in the process!
